ARCHALIS GUIDES · READING A RESULT
Can a token pass a honeypot test and still be dangerous?
Yes. A successful buy and sell is useful evidence about execution. It does not settle who controls the contract, what protects the pool or what can change next.

First, establish what “passed” means.
A checker may report a completed simulation, a successful sale, an overall risk classification or a combination of these. Read the definition behind the label.
Read the recorded buy and sell outcomes separately from the overall risk rating. A successful sale answers an execution question; the rating also considers structural risks. See how Archalis evaluates the evidence →.
For an Archalis buy/sell result, identify the observation date, selected market, tested amount and any stated coverage limits. A result for one execution path does not establish the outcome for every wallet, route, amount or future block.
Illustrative example: a small recorded sale succeeds, but a larger sale faces substantial price impact in a thin pool. The successful test and the poor larger-trade outcome can both be true. This example is not an observed Archalis incident.
ONE RESULT · TWO DIFFERENT QUESTIONS
Execution evidence is one part of risk.
Evidence for the recorded execution conditions.
Can privileged actors change balances or rules? What protects liquidity? Who holds the supply? What changed afterwards?
Four questions a successful sale does not settle.
Who can change the rules?
Look for powers to change transfer conditions, fees or balances. Establish who can exercise them and whether that authority has been verified. A permission is a risk to assess, not proof it will be abused.
What protects the liquidity?
Separate the amount in the selected pool from who can withdraw or otherwise affect its reserves. An LP lock only addresses the locked position and its terms; it is not a complete review of the token contract.
Who holds the supply?
Concentrated holdings can expose a pool to large sales. Read the coverage and wallet attribution: a large balance alone does not identify an insider, and missing holder data does not demonstrate broad distribution.
What has changed since the test?
A stored result describes an earlier observation. Pool depth, balances and contract state may differ now. An old result is historical evidence, even when it remains the latest available report.
Two mechanisms that require more than an exit test.
These investigations document contract and pool behaviour. We are not claiming that either token passed a public honeypot checker before the incident.
SUPERMAMA
Burned LP did not remove a concealed permission.
Archalis reconstructed a transfer privilege that remained usable after ownership was renounced. It was used to move tokens out of the pool, update reserves and sell the tokens back. The sequence did not require withdrawing liquidity with LP tokens.
Question to carry forward: have non-standard privileges been examined, or only the owner field and LP status?

The damaging transaction was a successful sale.
A hidden function changed a wallet’s balance before those tokens were sold into the pool. The concern was the source of the sellable balance and its privileged creation.
The dossier also distinguishes the pool outflow from third-party losses: most funding was associated with the owner.
Question to carry forward: can a privileged actor create or alter balances outside the assumptions of an ordinary trade?

| Finding | Supported conclusion | Still to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Recorded sale succeeded | That tested execution completed. | Other amounts, wallets, routes and later states. |
| LP position locked | The identified position is subject to the verified lock terms. | Other positions, expiry and token-level privileges. |
| Owner field renounced | The observed owner field has the renounced value. | Other roles, custom permissions and upgrade paths. |
| Low measured concentration | The measured distribution has that concentration. | Unmeasured balances and relationships between wallets. |
Read execution, structural risk and coverage separately.
- Sellability: what worked or failed in the recorded test, and under what conditions?
- Contract control and liquidity: what powers and withdrawal paths are identified?
- Holders: how much distribution is measured, and which attributions are supported?
- Evidence and history: when was the observation made, and what remains unverified?
The Archalis rating summarises observed structural risk. It is not a prediction of price, a guarantee of future execution or a substitute for the reasons and limitations beneath the grade. Read the methodology →.
KEEP THE RESULT IN CONTEXT
Check more than the green result.
Open the report for the exact BNB Chain contract. Read the decisive risk reasons alongside the buy/sell outcome, then inspect the observation date.
A saved token is a bookmark. Monitoring is a separate choice and cannot guarantee detection of every change before a trade.
